How to find targeted travel affiliates

| No Comments | No TrackBacks

Here's how we found some targeted travel publishers in two steps using Syntryx Keyword Search with the Syntryx Link Search Engine and Publisher Genome data:

Step 1: Select target travel keywords and competitors:

We used the Syntryx Keyword Search to get a quick list of targeted travel advertisers. To get started our traffic analyst came up with a short list of Travel keywords: "timeshares", "vacation packages", "cruise".

The results brought up targeted Advertisers like Travelocity.com, Cruise.com, Carnival.com and Sellmytimesharenow.com. In addition, we found some interesting target words like: timeshare rentals, sell timeshare, timeshare resale, resell timeshare, resorts, cruises.

We use this information to find targeted travel publishers using the Syntryx latest Publisher Genome data.

Step 2: Find targeted travel publishers:

The goal is to get targeted publishers leads the specific travel targeted keywords and advertisers. We used the Syntryx Link Search Engine which presents targeted leads with their updated Publisher Genome data.

All we have to do next is to get these targeted leads in the hands of our energetic media buyers and affiliate managers. They should be able to take advantage of these 553 fresh travel publisher leads pretty quickly.

The New York Times is running an interesting article how Siceworks has become a hub for IT professionals.  Spiceworks combines
Have you tried it?

Ever ran into the issue of a developer making a change in the code with ripple effects?  Once that happens, you have to institute more comprehensive regression tests throughout the system, hoping to avoid such ripple effects in the future.  The Software Devotional is running a great article about loose coupling.  This is not the same as encapsulation, and while it might be more expensive on the short run, and an overkill on smallish projects, as soon as the projects get larger, it becomes very painfully obvious that a little bit looser coupling would go a long way in code robustness.  My experience certainly validates the assertions Micheal Jones makes in his article.  Give it some thought.
When developing queries and stored procedures, it is possible to lock up access to the database.  this can happen most frequently when autocommit is off, and a transaction is left hanging in a window.  If all else fails, the application that is causing the lockup can be identified and forced with:

LIST APPLICATIONS;
FORCE APPLICATION (<application number>);
The application number can be a comma separated list.
  • Use the Keyword Search!
  • Results show who's ranking and who's buying at most major search engines
  • Hover over "Economy" and "Deals" icons to quickly spot new publishers
  • Explore the "Done" and "Force" columns to gauge SEO opportunities
  • Use the Link Search Engine and Publisher Directory!
  • Enter target domains into the Positive Match box or "Add Lists and Tabs" for easy targets
  • Filter for link text, keywords in domain names, URL tracking codes, location and more
  • Use the "Save List" filter before searching to export results to your List Manager
In DB2 if you need to populate a table, you need to use INSERT INTO, like in this example:

INSERT INTO new_table
 SELECT col1,col2 FROM source_table
  WHERE col1='something';
and if you need to populate query variable, you need to use SELECT INTO, like in this example:

SELECT * INTO :var1, :var2, :var3
FROM table_name WHERE col1= 'something';

Site Mappers - Priceline.com, Elearner.com

This one is a personal favorite of few of our team members. Our SiteMappers presents a new way of looking and understanding site maps by visualizing websites' Sitemaps.
The following examples show the visual site maps of Elerarners.com and Priceline.com, two known authorities in the Education and Travel industries. Note how both sites branch out from a main site map or content block to a secondary level of site maps to the next and so on... For the first time we are able to match an image to ideas like "site structure" or "internal link patterns". More to come shortly...

Syntryx Visual Link Market Shares captures websites that either receive or refer a link related to any given keywords, websites, brands, etc. For example, the first visualization on the set bellow shows websites that refer a link to either one or more of the following 'Target Website': Walmart.com, Homedepot.com, Sears.com, and Lowes.com. Note the clear yellow spread which represents what seems to be a large set of websites that link to homedepot.com or Lowes.com but do not link to Walmart.com or Sear.com. As a marketing executive at walmart or a walmart affiliate, I'd be curious to further my investigation to find out what's so attractive about Homedepot.com and Lowes.com that so many sites chose to link to them over Walmart or Sears.
